Tonight is Thee night! FNO! The biggest, baddest, best-est [if I may say that] way to kick off NYFW. 

It's the night of the Style Maven. The night of the Blogger. && it's here!! 

& where will I be? ...at work x_x [did your heart drop for me?]

 These are the things that happen when you decide to do high-end retail. 

Everyone wants to participate! 

We'll be having a private event, which is cool, I guessss lol. 

There'll be a live band and booze ^.^

-____- but that still does not negate the fact that I will not get to see any of my favorite celebs as they traipse through the streets w|o a care. This doesn't happen often. [feel my pain]. 

& of course as a stylista, I want to see alllll of the creativity that you guys will put into your 'fits. 

Anyway, I'm just writing to say, if you hear the news about the girl who was found hanging by her turban..

Are you not entertained!?
So Liv, one of Miami's IT nightclubs, was packed to the ceiling on this particular Sunday - and nothing less is to be expected when sir Hovi's in the building. ..However, everyone in Miami must have stupendous bank accounts seeing as, you couldn't get in without forking over $500. < sounds like rent money to me.
 ...& God forbid you wanted to reserve a table ...how's $25000 sound.
...CRAY!

But the footage is amazing. They appear to be having a BLAST!
& who wouldn't be when Jay's buying bottles for, what had to be, the entire city!?
$250,000 worth of Ace of Spades circulated the building and to show his appreciation for what better be, outstanding service - he leaves a 50k tip. o.O
..I'm over here looking for a PT bar-tending gig and he's in FL leaving 50k tips!?
..madness.

I love it though!

Style In The City [Networking Event]

Last Night I attended "Style In The City" - A networking event, put together by Duckie Brown, with help from an array of co-hosts who are making their marks in this world of fashion and entertainment. 

There were stylists, designers, bloggers, photographers, Graphic Design Pro's etc. 

The event was held @ La Pomme in Chelsea - a very cool, laid back, place to be. 

...Definitely enjoyed myself. 

Fashion Designer, Mali & I ...& the infamous glass of wine. 

That glass was in just about every pic lol ...If I wasn't me, I'd think "she's a bit of a drunk".

Dear Diary | Black and Metallic

Party Party Party let's all get wasted!!

I was dancing to that song before I even found a dress. Even after looking, and losing all hope. 

I gave up, made other plans, BUT I knew that I'd be kicking myself silly if my night didn't go as it was originally mapped. Luckily, a dress just randomly fell into my lap. I'd bought my shoes days ago [which I looove] so the only thing left was to schedule Primp time. 

I woke up a little too early for my liking yesterday but things needed to be done. I hopped out of bed and headed to do what little bit of laundry I had left, went to get a haircut, came back, ate food, played with hair styles, decided on a braided pony tail, headed to Williamsburg, and finally when I made it back home I got my nails done. ...& then had to wash my hair. ...Pooped!? [pff! UNDERSTATEMENT]. 

I wanted a nap so bad but it wasn't happening. & notice, I only mentioned food once. 0.o

By 9:30/10pm I was all set to leave. 

I attended Duckie Brown's 'Black & Metallic' New Year's Eve Bash @ iLounge. 

It was dope. When I envisioned my night, I saw a bunch of stylish guys and gals - just out to have fun, celebrating a new beginning. A New Year. ..When I arrived, everyone hadn't made it just yet but I definitely saw my vision coming to life. ..By 1am, it was in effect. A blast was only seconds away from being had. 

I went alone, expecting to run into folks that I knew.

 When I got there, there wasn't a familiar face in the room but it didn't take long before I made a friend. 

I'm always tickled by that because I've never been super social [it's funny how things change]. 

That's one. & attending a party without company is another. I've never done it. I've always hated it. 

Last night really showed me what I was working with. 

Though I genuinely enjoy my friends' company, them being there is sort of like a crutch.

I'd beg my home girls to go out and if no one was rolling, I wouldn't roll either.  

But many things are dispensable. & that habit is one. 

I walked in, checked my coat, and relaxed. 

Like I said, the party hadn't really started yet when I arrived so I simply took a seat and prayed that I'd warm up quick. ..I didn't. However as soon as my glass of wine kicked in, my shiver's turned into shimmy's. ;)

& then my shimmy's turned into *glass in the air with lil swirls to the floor* lol.

At this point, I was definitely acting up. 

[see pic* ..it was one of those nights. & within time, the familiar faces arrived ;) Which totally up'd the ante.]

Dear Diary | Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

Today is the day when anxiety begins. ..My 24th birthday is exactly 1 month away from today & I am too excited. Unfortunately I have no clue how I plan to celebrate and that's what makes me anxious. 

Though I don't even see why I bother with the hysterics - this is me EVERY YEAR. lol. 

My name is Tierra. & I am a chronic last minute birthday shindig planner. 

The ideal event would include me, a beach or a large boat, lots of sand, lots of sun, a tan, a drink a few drinks, friends and foreign food. ...I'd just die. ..A surprise party would be super cute too. I haven't had one since I turned 6 y.o. :(

I'm going to give myself 15 days to make a decision so that I can inform everyone, and give them enough time to work me in to their schedules ~,~

Paper Doll Boutique opened on November 10, 2007 and this year will be it's 3rd year in business! 

To celebrate Paper Doll's 3rd anniversary, there will be 3 events. 

At the first event "Guys. Dolls. Art. Vintage." there will be designer vintage pieces and several other brands being sold at discounted prices - along with an hour of open bar [^-^, that's always fun lol].

Oddly enough, I knew nothing about this last year. That is, until the day of. 

I don't quite remember what stopped me from heading out but I didn't go. & I was sick about it. 

This year there's a different plot.

I've already begun searching for looks!! [It's that kind of night, so I've heard]. 

I mean, when there's a chance that you may run into Anna Wintour - you might want to exude VOGUE.

...or something close to it. 

Vogue's too stoosh for me though - I'm Half Priss/Half Hippy. 

...hmm ~.~ We'll work it out.

Tomorrow [August 24th]  Socialight Entertainment, The CMSN, & Nue Agency presents Chiddy Bang After Party!! ...This is the after party for the already sold out show Chiddy Bang will be doing at Highline Ballroom [according to the Daily News].

I can't say that I'm too familiar with Chiddy Bang but I will be in attendence to support last week's Candy - Carlos St. John - who's one of several artists set to perform along side the Chiddy duo.

Tickets are $10.00 = STEAL!

..so if you have nada to do, I say come play!

YRB Magazine and Smirnoff put together a pretty cool event last night. 

Jada and I was in attendance and it was also great to run into my homegirl Lathleen [of Lathleen Writes] and friends.

I met these guys courtesy of Jada's super outgoing personality and because I was standing alone at first, Robot's first words to me were "Don't be bougie!" lmao ..I died. 

They're sweet!

Raye6 was another one of last night's treats - donning funky hair, lashes and a super cute Rue 107 dress. ...I thought I was doing something with my little mo'hawk but her hair completely stole the show. It's literally the first thing I noticed when I walked in so I had to take a picture and share with you guys. ...Asides from being a daring fashionista, Raye6 is also a singer!

I had an okay ride from VA to NY last night. I'm well rested and, as alway, ready to roll!

Weekend Fun | Stoop Sale

 On Saturday, as mentioned a few days ago, my friends and I put together a stoop sale - it was thee most fun I've had in a while. We sold clothes, shoes, accessories [jewelry, bags, belts, etc.] ...There were even shoes that have never been worn [not in my size, unfortunately] but a few folks got lucky! & to every customer, we gave a cup of lemonade. ....Add that up with a block full of brownstones, good music and a warm summer breeze & you have what I call "The Crooklyn Experience". ...That's how it felt to me.

We were super excited  to make money off of stuff we couldn't stand to look at anymore but we enjoyed making friends a whole lot more. Every person who stopped by was very nice.There wasn't one 'shop & go' customer. We chopped it up with everyone. - We even played double dutch with them. [Hilarious]

I truly wish all of you guys could have been there.

A Night @ The Doll House | Tattoo Party

I spent most of my Thursday deconstructing denim jeans - turning them into ripped up, frayed and tie-dyed shorts. ...much like the ones that I'm wearing below.

I did this for about 7 pairs of jeans that are being sold at Paper Doll Boutique

Yesterday after dropping them off at the boutique, I distressed a pair of jeans for my friend Victoria Shelton [owner of Paper Doll] - as we killed time before the tattoo event that was being held there.

I'd decided earlier that day that I wouldn't be getting a tattoo but after the crowd came in, and I mixed and mingled in the sea of ink and good energy my mind changed, QUICK. 

Not knowing what to get, I asked Stephy to help me find something that she thought would fit me well. & her suggestion was spot on!

We rarely hang around each other but she was easily able to decipher my personality. She googled "free spirit" for inspiration and then suggested that I get a feather. ....PERFECT, I thought. & that's exactly what I got. 

- but not any ole feather-

I got a peacock feather. ..which totally up'd the ante ;)
