Writings on the wall: You wanna Tumble with the Bey, huh?

..Aunty Bey has opened a Tumblr account for all of us to see.
Which makes for a very unproductive day.
As I peek into her life, I am smitten by her refinement and beauty.
...AND by her love for the one entertainer who I Love dearly.
Her photos show her living a life that many of us have only dreamed of or read about.
It's a wondrous thing, to know that where you are presently, doesn't mark the end of your world.

There's so much to be seen on this Earth
I remain hopeful ..knowing that it's brilliance wasn't bottled up and put aside solely for those who could afford it. ...but that it was bottled up and put aside solely for those who believe in the idea of there being MORE. ...for the seekers.

it is our duty, to find the beauty...

After the jump, you'll find more of my favorite photos from Beyonce.tumblr.com

Writings on the wall: Cooking Raw, with the Brooklyn Bawse

I didn't get to go to SXSW but I did get to see my favorite person perform LIVE {in the comfort of my room} thanks to American Express & YouTube. :)

I even got dressed for it, lol.

Writings on the wall: Lose Some, To Win Some

So we, ain't we
It's me, and her
'Cause what she prefers over me, is work
And that's, where we, differ
So I have to give her
Free, time, even if it hurts
So breathe, mami, it's deserved
You've been put on this earth to be
All you can be, like the reserves
And me? My time in the army, it's served
So I have to allow she, her, time to serve
The time's, now for her
In time, she'll mature
And maybe we, can be, we, again like we were
Finally, my time's too short to share
And to ask her now, it ain't fair
So yeah..

What I love most about Jay-Z's lyrics, is that I can listen to them over and over and they're still refreshing.
There's always something to learn. Something that I've missed. ...or something that relates to something that I've learned outside of his lyrics that now gives me a new understanding of what I'm listening to. I can't say that I relate to everything that he speaks about but sooner or later ...I find myself nodding in agreement.

We've* been put on this earth to be all we can be like the Reserves
& I have to allow you, your time to serve.

E|A News : Jay-Z @ Liv [Miami]

Are you not entertained!?
So Liv, one of Miami's IT nightclubs, was packed to the ceiling on this particular Sunday - and nothing less is to be expected when sir Hovi's in the building. ..However, everyone in Miami must have stupendous bank accounts seeing as, you couldn't get in without forking over $500. < sounds like rent money to me.
...& God forbid you wanted to reserve a table ...how's $25000 sound.
...CRAY!

But the footage is amazing. They appear to be having a BLAST!
& who wouldn't be when Jay's buying bottles for, what had to be, the entire city!?
$250,000 worth of Ace of Spades circulated the building and to show his appreciation for what better be, outstanding service - he leaves a 50k tip. o.O
..I'm over here looking for a PT bar-tending gig and he's in FL leaving 50k tips!?
..madness.

I love it though!

Dear Diary | Spit Game's Proper ...STILL ;)

"You were really my girlfriend at one point. ...You had long hair. Remember, I'd always say 'Tierra put your hair in a ponytail.' ..Now you have no sides. [haaa - this is me laughing.] You're a soho girl now. ...DO YOU EVEN LISTEN TO RAP ANYMORE?"

- The craziness.

I am NOT a Soho girl. I don't even know what that is. ...A city girl? Yea, I'll take that. & you should know that as I'm writing this, I'm listening to Fear of God. I grew up on rap. I grew up rapping. [go head. laugh.] ...I'm serious though lol. The 24 year old me would go back to the 5 year old me any day. That girl was so effin ballsy.  Full of surprises.

I lived in Pink Houses until I turned 10. & before I even reached that age, I'd make up raps with my dad about the nuttiest things. I had one about Barney that was sure to be a hood banger, the way he played it. One night my mom had me free-styling in the kitchen, by the fridge. I cursed and all, real smooth. Thought she missed it. She didn't. ...I had this 'cute' thing working for me though. ..So, you know. It was cool. ...& another time I was in the bathroom while Gin & Juice was playing ...singing the lyrics but remixing it. Really just the harmony. ..but I was dead serious. @ 5.

I've always been a writer of some sort. Loved poetry. So of course I had a few of those books. & I mean, how could I just recite them. I had to rap those too, right? ..sure did.

Junior High is when I discovered Jay-Z & abused the hell out of cassette tapes. I'd record all of his songs then rewind, and rewind, and rewind them until I was able to write down every last lyric. ....Then I'd rewind, and rewind, and rewind, them again - until I knew the songs word for word. [I let my tape rock, 'til my tape popped].

I'm into all things girly but a chick's got flow. ...I walked into Popeyes last night and dude asked me what kind of music I like ...Said he thought I'd say rock.  ...Yea, I might say rock. Rock's cool. ...But I need that bounce. [...might've said that in my coolest Jay voice.]

He Say She Say | Jay-Z

A huge lesson for me was that if I was gonna be successful, I had to be successful as myself.
I couldn't be successful doing what other people were doing.
I had to do what I believed in and what felt real to me and felt true to me,
because the worst thing to be is successful as someone else.

p.s. Jay-Z's autobiographical book Decoded is set to hit stores November 16, 2010.
It'll cover his life - from his childhood in Marcy Projects to his years of being a teenage drug dealer to Now ...with many things in between. --From someone who only gives you a 3 minute peek into his life, per song. This is pretty big. ..or maybe I'm just a super fan who fiends for anything with his name on it. lol ..Na'aaan.

Are You Not Entertained!?

I love how hard she reps Jay.
With me being a huuuuge fan of his - It's only natural for me to love someone he loves and someone who loves the hell out of him!

They have no idea what they do to me lol

I'd rather die ENORMOUS than live dormant

As I was beginning this post, I thought to myself "I seem to mention Lateboots alot". & that's merely because, as a writer, you want to always mention your sources. That's something I try to stick to, especially if it's the first place I've seen the material.

I consider Lateboots to be ErraofArre's late, great cousin. I am inspired to pieces by Marquis and I love his energy. He's an avid shit talker but he gets shit done. & I admire that.

Like myself, he's a Jay-Z beast! & if I knew him personally I'd hug him until his pocket square origami'd into a heart. ...specifically for putting me and the rest of you Lateboots followers on to this video - I knew nothing about it prior to my daily visit and [yea, I'm about to have a moment] it took no less than 5 seconds for me to start rambling on Twitter.

WATCH!

"NY-Z", a 15 min. documentary presented by ABSOLUT Vodka. - Directed by Danny Clinch

To some, this is the same old story - you've seen this, heard that. But for a Jay fan or anyone who simply respects this guy's craft and drive - Jay-Z news is always groundbreaking, no matter how many times its told.
I was saying to my Twitter peeps that Empire State of Mind still gives me that extra umph. It's been played a billion times on the radio, a million times in your CD changer and a hundred times on both BET and MTV but does that change the message?

When you're out that Brooklyn, with hopes of moving to Tribeca - Idk another song that can compliment the journey. I don't know another guy. I've been on a Jay-Z binge for years now. I was the young girl who sent fan mail right after I was taken there by a Nas fan. The project life and pissy hallways, I related to that. The missing father, I knew that too. Drugs existed in my upbringing - not in my household, but I've seen the workings of it. && Having a love for something and going hard for it, I'm familiar with that in more ways than one.

Dude moves me!!

I don't speak about alot, but that doesn't mean it never occurred or isn't occurring.
So her grind is visual, ok! clap for her!,  but don't respect a silent hustle any less.

Jay-Z sans Lee ;(

Okay, so it's no secret that I am in love with this man!
...&& before it gets twisted, I mean love in a "Uncle Jay" kinda way. ...I'll save the romantics for Queen Bey.

Well, he'll be in my city today. Our City [we're both Brooklyn natives]. He'll be performing at The Garden and I WON'T BE THERE!!! [sick face]
I swear, I liked him more when he was a little less famous. He's always been big.. but right now, at this point and time, Jay-Z's Colossal. Tickets sell out in seconds! =/ lies. MILLIseconds.
...This can't be life.

Knowing that I'm ticket-less and hoping for a miracle prompted me to do a YOUTUBE search for a few of his concerts. Here's one that he did in the CHI. It's hella short, and hella funny [thanks to Lebron's lack of dance moves]. However, the WOW factor came at the 46 second mark when Jay hit a few numbers.

My reaction: NO. HE. IS. NOT. DANCING!!

Oh, I loved it. && will mimic every move 'til I have it in the bag.
That song will play, and I will jam. I'm naming it "The Checkin'' My Fresh". ...Though he may have beat me to it, seeing that Great Minds, DO think alike ;)
