Designer Spotlight | Crystal Mone' by Tiffany Clarke

Tiffany Clarke describes her line as ".. a contemporary womens ready-to-wear line, that is a mix of sophistication and 'chic urban'. Each creation is made to embrace your femininity and bring out that inner edge."

One must love a designer who's true to her word. Crystal Mone' is everything that it's said to be. 

I felt chic, feminine and most of all lucky that these pieces are one of a kind. Couple that with the precision of their fit and you'll definitely walk away feeling as though they were made just for you. 

This has to be my FAVORITE piece. 

I've always been a lover of tribal prints. ...maybe all things tribal. 

Traditional African Art just seems to have the ability to add a sense of power to garments. 

..can't get enough.

Designer Spotlight | VintageHanger

Being the trinket junkie that I am, you'll always find me going goo-goo over most things unique, colorful, sometimes classic, that always makes a statement - which I can throw on either my wrists or fingers.

Luckily for me there are loads of jewelry brands with outstanding aesthetics that I can choose from.

One brand that caught my eye, most recently, happens to be VintageHanger, which is based out of New York and was created based on the concept "one man's trash, is another man's treasure". ...I mean, not really [but more or less] lol.

I think it's a perfect description for the brand's Unisex Antique Button Bracelets which range from $20-$45 in price.

I have this one. I love it. It's like ..Friendship Bracelet COUTURE. ;)

Designer Spotlight | Juun J.

My store currently has Juun J. eyewear on display. 

It's been there for about a week but I didn't bother to see who the designer was until yesterday - after trying on a pair of frames [which I loved].  ..My coworker says "mmhm, He's coming up!" 

Have you ever been introduced to something and then a day or two later - it pops up out of nowhere and you're like "Oooh! Oooh! I know that! or him! or her!" ...lol, yea?.
 I just did that. 

I saw this video and it was as if I saw my friend's face in a magazine for the first time. 

[I'm very dramatic]

Anywho - He has some really interesting pieces! ..I like.

GANT by Michael Bastian

I was first introduced to the brand sometime in August, during a stroll through The West Village. 

The store, located on Bleeker and W. 10th, was really warm and cozy. It took me back to Winter though I was assembled in teeny tiny gym shorts, a white tank and chucks. 
Picture This: a wall filled with an array of flannel prints and rugby styled shirts [some mixed with denim, some without] - rubbing sleeves with double breasted cardigans and puffer waist coats [cool way to say bubble vest]. Wool and leather varsity jackets with toggle coats and blazers. All in the company of a very vintage sewing machine - tucked away in the corner for looks. [are you not entertained?]

Idk if guys get as excited for women's clothing as I do for theirs but the way certain pieces ignite my fire - you'd think I was shopping for myself. I just love a well dressed man. & I guess if you couple that with my desire to style you'll then have a super aroused Tierra [Ms. Lee, if your...you know.] I'd totally date a Gant guy.

Designer Spotlight | Milly By Michelle Smith SS11

NYFW. I can't imagine it not being every girl's dream.

It's the one place where you can go and rub shoulders with your favorite fashionable celebrities, socialites, stylists and designers. & if you're dressed to the nines as they'd be - you can expect to be treated half important as swarms of bloggers and photographers for well-known publications pull you to the side for a shot of what you're wearing. ..I promise you'll leave Lincoln Center feeling like the next big thing. 

Speaking of which, Milly is that, for me. I've never heard of the line until this year but apparently it's been established since 2000. After viewing the SS11 preview, it's safe to say that this line could very well make it into my Goody Bag [my Rolodex of who's who and what's hot]  & that orange lip did nothing but reel me in more. As well as her tulip shaped sunnies, which I adore. 

 

 

 

  I love the high waisted shorts, blue turbans and the white and blue maxi. <3

If I could choose my big sister, I think Erin would be that girl!

I've always wanted an older sibling and she possesses the right amount of cool for the position.

She's modeled - She currently designs and like me, she loooves accessories [rings, especially].

What I love most about her is how free spirited she is. I've been riding that wave lately and I'm just really inspired by her and other like minded beings.

I chose to post these pics from the RVCA x Erin Wasson Fall 2010 Lookbook after an immediate attraction to the illustrations. The colors are beautiful. They almost make me want to get a tattoo lol.

Designer Spotlight: Kate Ross of Distinguished Cravat

I love an intellectual just as much as I love a being of impeccable style.

& I'm not biased to looks that accentuate me solely. 

Kate has a style that's all her own with a mind to match. 

I've met a good bit of ppl during my 23 years of living but none quite like Kate - who's not only extremely smart and inspiring but one who's willing to share her insight. [believe it or not, everyone isn't in to sharing lol]

While checking out StyleLikeU.com for a few style-spirations, I came across her interview and a poem - which she wrote titled "Still I Design".

Feliz Cinco de Mayo ;)

If you don't already know, Cinco de Mayo commemorates a Mexican victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862. Today, instead of hanging up my Cinco de Mayo banner or doing a few moves to the sounds of miriachi - I'll leave the partying to designers, Marvin Duran and Quetzal Rangel  & possibly dream about Chipotle [the usual].

Marvin and Quetzal are two friends who met during a party in 2004 while eye-loving on each other's 'fits. Love at first sight? These two make me a believer. Sometime after their meet and greet the duo launched their line Marvin y Quetzal which appears to be highly influenced by Japanese culture just as much as their own.

Today is the first time I've heard of these two and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with their collections. Usually I'm enticed by shapes but this time around its the art of it all that intrigues me. Unfortunately due to the passing of Quetzal Rangel, Marvin y Quetzal's SS 09 collection is their last.

Designer Spotlight: Stella McCartney | Spring 2010

As we all know, today is St. Patrick's Day. 

I went to sleep and woke up without a clue of what I'd write about today so I thought I'd begin sourcing editorials for a variety of stylish green pieces. ...Can you say, "no bueno!" ..That definitely didn't work out and I suppose I was quite fortunate. 

The whole thought of the color green being correlated to the holiday sort of made me anxious to literally do a green post. However, we all know that one can be GREEN without actually wearing green duds. Take designer Stella McCartney, for example. After reading about her in "The Teen Vogue HandBook" I've learned that she lives a very eco-friendly life & also incorporates this lifestyle into the design and production of both her collection and organic beauty line, Care.

The Earth Ambassador, as the handbook refers to her, has been an advocate against the use of fur and leather from day one. When asked about her stance on animal products in fashion, she basically explains that the act is one that she could never begin to comprehend and describes it as "medieval and barbaric".

Stella has also provided TIPS on how we all can live an eco-friendly life.

Nailed It!

So I've officially found my color palette for spring/summer and I owe it all to Jane Schub. Library of Color Volume 4 is the latest collection from her STRANGEBEAUTIFUL line and I want all eight of them. Normally, I like to stick with bright colors, particularly Hot Pink, Neon Orange and White, I may dabble with muted tones just to try something different but I'm hardly ever wow'd.

These babies, however, definitely bring on the w.o.w. && surprisingly, I'm most excited about the nudes. I love the blue as well, more so, because I've yet to find one in that shade.

&& no, they aren't named. Strange, huh? [in a beautiful kind of way, ...I guess lol]

Designer Spotlight: Lirany Vasquez

As we all have dreams, Designer Lirany Vasquez grew up wanting to pursue a career in writing [particularly for a fashion mag]. She earned an English degree at the University of Maryland and a start in Journalism in both Washingon DC and Los Angeles, after which, she decided that instead of writing about fashion, she'd much prefer to contribute to it.

It was in 2003 that Lirany ventured out to NYC to pursue her career in jewelry design. She attended one of the countries top jewelry companies where she learned every aspect of the business. After a while, she decided to pursue her dreams on her own and designed a small collection of earrings ad necklaces for a friend's boutique. With the collection being a success, Pretty Little Thing was born. ;)  

It was about 6am when I stumbled upon Lirany's site and instantly, I fell in love w. her designs.

The items that you see below are my favorites! There are alot of metal and glass mixtures && I find that the pricing's extremely reasonable.
