Pieces & Things: Young, Vibrant & Wild

...& let us, of course, not forget Free - in flowas many of the best things are.
That's how I would describe two of my favorite pieces from Wildflower, the latest collection of Brooklyn based designer, Mali Ro.

I always express how much I loooove pieces that are very easy {as far as wear, and pair-ability} yet also stylish.
& I apologize if I sound like a broken record but when I find a designer who gets it, it's hard not to exclaim over and over again. There are a million, billion maxi skirts/dresses every where you go but clearly ONLY for girls who are 5'6 and under.

The Wildflower MÚS Maxi Skirt is a tall girl's dream but falls beautifully on petite sizes as well.
It's light. It's long. & available in an assortment of hues.
My fave, being the True Blue ..as seen below.

& then there's the Wildflower EMRO Crop, which is easily a Fashion First Aid MUST.
It's a great separate that can be paired with anything.
However, I think it looks exceptionally pretty and Grecian when combined with a like colored MÚS maxi.
but I'm pro monochrome!!

Wildflower is Mali Ro's third collection.
The skirts and tops are what's available now ..but I believe the fun has only just begun.
To shop Wildflower or other MÚS looks, simply click the pic below.

Pieces & Things: Sometimes comfort doesn't matter...

When a shoe is freakin' fabulous, it may be worth a subsequent day of misery.

Soak in Epsom salts and take comfort in the fact that you're better than everyone else.  :)

Pieces & Things: Isabel Marant kickz

..........

I need you to understand how BAD I need these!
& I can't even begin to remember the last time I needed a pair of sneakers.
..Maybe back in H.S. ...or after one of those crazy club nights when the heels got 'real'.
whatever.
..I want them in this color.

Pieces & Things: Jacey Boots

If there's anything that this stylista needs this fall it is, without a doubt, a pair of chic [black] lace-up ankle boots with a 3.5 inch heel. I can't even begin to describe how painful this search has been.
It seems that everyone can make a bootie but very few can make the perfect pair!
I'm looking for ankle-hugging, hardware having, deliciousness.

Now I would go in depth about the beautiful pair that I found on Nine West's site but since those babies were sold out -_- ..we'll give love to the equally fab and available - Jacey Boots by Senso.

Aside from Nine West, Senso is the only brand that's delivered so far.
I fell in love with this style after getting frustrated with the fact that my combat boots weren't low enough [in height] or even high enough [in heel] to give me the type of casual-sexiness that I'm looking for some days.

I have really long legs, and I love a skinny jean. These boots, to me, are the perfect compliment for the two.

My thigh-high boots go well with my legs but when I wear those, it's more about the boot than the lengthy-ness tucked inside. & I'm tryna give it all away [not ...really. but y'know lol.]

Anyway, Senso's Jacey Boots can be found HERE
They go for $242 but hey ...One must INVEST in the BEST!
& I'm sure they'll last for a long while!

Pieces & Things: Yuketen Boots

So, I told you guys about my new obsession with menswear, right?
Ok.. well every now and then you'll see me post a few things on here that I personally think would make a great item for the fellas closets. ...Starting with these moccasin style boots by Yuketen.

Yuketen is an American brand, known for their rugged and refined footwear and luggage.
It's designer, Yuki Matsuda, uses age-old aesthetics and techniques as a source of inspiration to produce moccasins and boots that are hand-sewn by indigenous craftsman in Canada [..to give you that pure Americana feel]. :)

***************
When I worked for Jean Shop [a denim and leather company] we carried moccs that were similar to this.
They last forever. The wear and tear of the leather is great.
...& It's almost like having a new pair of customized shoes once they're all scuffed and oiled.
They begin to tell a story.
Which is great for 400-600 bucks.
Not many people are walking around with talking shoes, y'kno. lol

Pieces & Things: The Varsity Jacket

I've been dreaming of varsity jackets before the change in season even called for one. & though they're made more for men, than they are for women, I still want one bad. It's the perfect casual jacket for moderate weather. This isn't something that I'd want to be fitted, which then makes it transitional as it will allow for layering once the weather gets even more frigid.
& if you really know how to work it, it can add a new level of chic to your wardrobe.
When worn, it should be your statement piece.

I have this weird obsession with menswear that I can't shake. But my clothing doesn't reflect that. ..Yet. I own the ever popular boyfriend jean. A few over-sized tees but ..they're so yesterday. I have way too many ideas for this jacket for it not to be in my closet by now. & since they're making female varsity jackets that look like stupid little cropped varsity sweaters ...I'll have to shop with the big boys. :)

The jacket that you see above is by a brand called American College. I looove the crispness of this colorway. & the long sleeves. I can have this piece for yrs. It's a $315 investment but it's worth it.
I'm sure I'll get a fair share of wears out of it.
..what do you think??..

..Here's one way this trendy boy toy can go girly..

..and here's another..

Pieces & Things: Live At The Palazzo!

While fit-modeling for Apropo during market week, a few months ago, I modeled a pair of turquoise palazzo pants and found myself not wanting to put on anything else for the remainder of the day. I would have never imagined them fitting the way that they did. They were amazing, in both look and feel. Beyond comfortable.

Their super wide legs, when in dark colors, can create the illusion of a maxi skirt[which is cool]. & when in brighter hues, they sort of give you this, bigger than life, super hero look.

Palazzo pants are also a great way to elongate your legs. ...If my legs were shorter, I'd probably opt for a pair with a high waist or simply go monochrome with a one tone ensemble. ..& aside from this, they're a beautiful way to color-block an outfit. ...Which is what I have in mind for myself once I get a pair.
