"A lot of times in life, there's a big gap in what you're supposed to do with work and figuring out who you are and how you're going to succeed in this world. Success being only measured by doing what you want to do and what makes you happy-not success as in power-and figuring that out or trying to accomplish that, you realize, takes a tremendous amount of homework and passion and diligence. I happened to go through it from 14 to 19. I had a big gap in my life where I wasn't allowed to work at all because no one would hire me, which was great because I think you need that humility. You have to have everything taken away, or you have to have a major reality check, so that you always appreciate what you have."
